The Czech Fire Service Vladimir Vlcek, DCFO, Ostrava. 1.
INTRODUCTION
In this presentation I would like to introduce you to the Czech Fire
Service, its systems, responsibilities and organization. Due to changes in
public administration and new crisis legislation the 77 District Fire Rescue
Departments have now become 14 Regional Fire Rescue Brigades and Civil Defence
has been absorbed into the Fire Service system. As an example of the
new integrated response that has resulted, I will talk about the role of ECC
(Emergency Control Centre) - a unique dispatch control room, which is operated
in the area of Ostrava. 2.
