News and Media

After the successful launch of the Women’s Fire Service Network at the Chief Fire Officers Conference the Network is hosting its inaugural event at the Hudson Bay Hotel in Athlone on Wednesday 20th November.  All female Fire Service staff working across all grades and including Control Centres are invited.

The event starts with Tea and Coffee at 10.00 hrs and anyone wishing to go is requested to register via Eventbrite using the following link:

There are three key speakers at the event and there will also be a facilitated workshop.  The speakers are as follows:

Sinead Sharkey-Steenson – Training Your Inner Imposter

Dr. Niall Moyna – Exercise is Medicine

Fiona Brennan – Transform Negative Thoughts into Positive Emotions (How to care for yourself in a chaotic world and find inner stillness)

Full details of the speakers and their topics are available on the Eventbrite page.

We are aware that not all staff will be interested in the network and we are trying to establish a more formal membership.  To this end I have attached a membership form which we would request that staff wishing to be kept up to date with activities of the Network would complete and return to Anthea Browne, our current Secretary  anthea_browne@corkcity.ie

The Network has established a closed Facebook Group and all serving female members are invited to join:

This is a uniformed event and all attendees are asked to wear their work uniform / normal office or Control Centre uniform.
